Click straight to Frank Lampard, Michael Owen, Jamie Redknapp

First ... Headlines from other Next Generation stars:

Gary Bellamy - son of Arthur Bellamy (Burnley), was sacked as manager of Braintree Town of the Ryman Premier League 7 November 2003. Gary had been in charge for a year, which went by sadly unnoticed by Bob's 70-71 Pages until it was too late.

The information turned up in a back copy of 'The Non League Paper' I happened upon. Anyone not already aware of this excellent paper should get a copy soon.

New additions - the following have been added to the Sons and Daughters page

Bob Wilson (Arsenal) was in the 28 December 2003 Sunday Times Magazine in the regular 'Relative Values' feature, with his son, John Wilson, who it turns out is a BBC Radio Four presenter on the arts programme, Front Row.

Lou Macari's son (Celtic), Paul, is married to a reknown linemaster, Charlotte Oulton Macari, see below.

Eddie Gray's youngest son, Nick Gray has joined his brother, Stuart Gary, and cousin, Andy Gray, as the third Next Generation footballer from the Gray clan. Nick is presently in the Leeds United Under-19s squad, though he has been side-lined through injury. On 8 November, 2003, Nick fractured his scull in a 2-1 home defeat against local rivals Huddersfield Tow, but is recovering well. (From 14 December 2003 Leeds United v Fulham match programme.)

Louise - Harry Redknapp's daughter-in-law - is currently on the front cover of the women's fashion magazine, B.

See LouiseOfficial.com

Kenny Logan - Terry Yorath's (LeedsUnited) son in law - was Australia as part of the Scotland World Cup squad. The team did well, but were knocked out in the quarter-final stage. After the final game, Kenny announced his retirement from international rugby.

Kenny has since been seen in adverts for Whyte and Mackay whiskey along with real-life friend, Ally McCoist. News from Whyte and Mackay Group reports

The campaign, which features four ads and is a hilarious spoof of the current Beckham/Wilkinson film for Adidas, will hit the UK on Thursday (27 November 2003)
The ads feature the two Scottish sports personalities in a local park, attempting to teach the other the finer points of their sport, but failing miserably:
• Penalty: Ally trying to show Kenny how to ‘bend it like Beckham’
• Corner: Ally trying to show Kenny the right way to get the ball and score
• Tackle: Ally trying to ‘drive home’ goalie tactics to Kenny
• Conversion: Kenny trying to show Ally how to get the ball between the posts in style

Commenting on his co-star, Ally McCoist, said: “I wasn’t pleased when I heard that Kenny had made the World Cup squad, I was astounded. I thought he’d retired years ago. I’ve worked with his wife Gaby for years now and to be brutally honest, she‘s the talented one in the relationship...and she wears less make-up.” .

Whyte and Mackay has a 9% share of the worldwide Scotch whisky market. The company owns and operates four malt distilleries, a grain distillery and bottling & packaging facilities in Scotland.

Anyone who saw this year's BBC Sport's Personality of the Year, will have seen an interview with Ben and George after the team collected their deserved Team of the Year award.

21 October 2003 ic NorthernIreland - Dalglish Leaves Blues! reports:

(Paul's) form has dipped recently, being left on the bench against Portadown, playing against Cliftonville, but was brought off against Ards on Saturday.

He showed his displeasure by complaining to coach Bryan McLoughlin, who held talks over the weekend with manager David Jeffrey about the situation.

A source said: "When he first came he was very promising, scoring two penalties against Larne in his first match.

However, he picked up a groin injury and his form slumped.

"Fans have been asking is he worth the money, including his wages and flying him over each week. After all he is being paid full time wages."

And in a statement, the Linfield board made it clear they were unhappy with Dalglish not fulfilling promotional work.

His contract required him to fly in on a Thursday, train with his teammates and carry out promotional activities on Fridays and, of course, play on Saturday.

However, the statement read: "It was felt this arrangement was flexible enough to give Linfield the benefits of a full time player and also allow Paul to continue with his family and business commitments on the mainland.

"Following talks between the management committee and the player, it has become apparent that Paul's commitments elsewhere have been increasing and the club were not getting the benefits that had original been anticipated."

Dalglish agreed to be released yesterday after more talks with Jeffrey. The Linfield boss who is still recuperating after illness said last night: "I would like to thank Paul for his honesty and wish him all the best for the future."

Tom's record in 2003-2004 season:
League played 17 scored 0, FA Cup played 1 scored 2.

November 2003 Father, Joe is one of Scotland's most famous internationals. He played 52 times from 1973 to 1982, scoring 11 goals and played in the 1974, 78 and 82 World Cup Finals.

Hence, it was a surprise to some to see Tom being picked for England !

Tom was called up to play for the semi-professional international team played at Darlington's Reynold's Stadium against Belgium. The team is comprised of players from non-league teams and the manager, Paul Fairclough, selected Tom as a late call up, but hinted that he may be picked again.

Family friend, Gordon McQueen joked with him that he should throw the shirt in the bin after the game! And Tom, who lives with his parents in Bristol, suspected his father would not exactly welcome him home after the match.

Tom's brother Andy was selected 7 times for the Scottish Under-21's, so Tom is the only England player in the family !

Incidentally, teammate Gavin Cowan of Canvey Island, another late call up, came on for the last 15 minutes of the match. He is the great-grandson of Wolves and England international, Tom Baddeley, who won 5 caps in 1903-04.

16 November 2003 Frank plays in the England friendly against Denmark, arranged as there was no Euro 2004 Play-off to worry about.

Played at Old Trafford, Frank was on the pitch for a rare complete 90 minutes for what was his 8th consecutive England match. But the match was a disappointing 3-2 defeat.

This was Frank's 16th cap, and he did not add to his one international goal.

30 November 2003 Big match for Frank against Manchester United in the Premiership at Stamford Bridge. Frank's 60th minute penalty is all theat separates the sides, as Chelsea are top of the League !

League played 21 scored 3, FA Cup played 2 scored 0, League Cup played 2 scored 0, LDV Vans Trophy played 1 scored 0.

11 November 2003: Paul is recalled for the Welsh squad against Russia. The game is a crucial play-off for qualification to Euro 2004 and is the first of two-legs. The recall is quite an achievement for a player from Division Three, but Wales has been particularly hit by injuries in the bulid-up to the game.

15 and 19 November 2003 Paul fails to make the team or the bench for the two-legged Euro 2004 Play-off qualifiers. Welsh hopes were raised when they draw 0-0 in Russia, but even with me cheering them on from my front room watching the television, lost the home leg 1-0. Paul has been capped 9 times by Wales, 3 of those as a Northampton Town player.

Ian's record in 2003-2004 season:
League played 18, League Cup played 1

16 November 2003 Ian is on the bench for the England friendly against Denmark, arranged as there was no Euro 2004 Play-off to worry about.

Played at Old Trafford, Ian doesn't play in the disappointing 3-2 defeat.

Ian has been capped 3 times previously, but his last game was on 17 February 1997 against Italy. He was a Spurs player at the time of all of his three caps.

Incidentally, I see from my research for this information, that Ian has the rare honour of being conceived during the 1970-71 season ! I know he is joined by Nicky Summerbee in this respect, but there's a dodgy future website page for the site if ever there was...

13 December 2003 Ian is sent off for a professional foul in the 61st minute at home to Birmingham City in the Premiership. It was 1-0 to Birmingham at the time and they finished as 2-0 winners.
